One Good Eye is a platform for a wide-ranging discussion about the visual arts in Denver and the West. It’s a website now, and will evolve via social media channels, newsletters, exhibits and in-person events.

The site aims to be a sort of “little journalism,” filling the information gaps left by the departure of big media from comprehensive conversations about culture. It will feature traditional reviews, interviews, news stories and opinion pieces, but also tap new methods of storytelling that are less formal, and speak in a variety of voices. The goal is threefold: to let people know what’s going on, to give artists feedback on their work, and to present a more-complete picture of art in the region so that both insiders and out-of-towners can get a sense of what we’re up to.

One Good Eye hopes to be an open forum. We’d like to feature writing by all stripes of critics, artists, curators, patrons, fans, funders, anyone in the community. If you have something to say, talk to us and we’ll figure out a way to help you say it publicly. At the same time, keep us informed about what you are thinking, creating, exhibiting or wondering so we can pass that on, as well. We’re based in Denver, but hope to cover a wide terrain, south to Santa Fe and New Mexico, north to Boulder and beyond, west through Aspen and the Rockies toward Salt Lake. Publishing partners are welcome.

We hope you’ll read us, frequently. And support us where you can. Click on things, share things, tell your friends about us and tell us how we’re doing. We’ll be candid in our reviews and expect you to be, too.
